Every empanada can be made with our signature gluten-free dough and baked to order — plus naturally gluten-free tapas, all four Latin plates and desserts.
Loaded Empanadas and our team take additional precautions when preparing gluten-free orders: each empanada is made to order and baked rather than fried, which reduces the risk of cross-contact. Please speak with your server about allergies or sensitivities.
How a gluten-free order works

Inform our kitchen
Tell your server or select gluten free dough on your online order. Note if this is due to allergy or dietary preference.

Signature GF dough
We keep a separate gluten-free dough recipe made for our fillings. Any empanada on the menu can be built with it.

Baked to order
Gluten-free empanadas are baked, not fried, which keeps them out of shared fryer oil. Add a few minutes to your ticket.

Extra precautions
Clean surfaces, fresh utensils and separate handling where possible, to reduce the risk of cross-contact. We will tell you honestly what we can and cannot control.

Gluten-free dough is available during happy hour, 3–6 PM daily, and stays baked to order. See the Loaded Hours.

Can every empanada be made gluten-free?
Almost, excluding the Maze Balls, every empanada on the menu can be prepared with our signature gluten-free dough. Gluten-free empanadas are baked to order rather than fried, so they take a few extra minutes.
Is Loaded Empanadas safe for people with celiac disease?
While Loaded Empanadas is not a dedicated gluten-free facility, our team takes additional precautions, that include making each item to order, using clean utensils, gloves and work surfaces and baking instead of frying when preparing gluten-free orders, to limit cross-contact. Please speak with your server about allergies or sensitivities so they can provide more information on what we do.
How do I order a gluten-free empanada?
Tell your server or note it on your online order. Ask for the gluten-free dough on any empanada, and let us know if anyone at the table has a sensitivity so the kitchen is told before cooking starts.
Are gluten-free empanadas fried or baked?
Gluten-free empanadas are baked to order. Baking keeps them out of shared fryer oil and holds the dough together better.
Which tapas and sides are gluten-free?
Tapioca cheesy dice, shishito peppers, maple Brussels sprouts, roasted cauliflower, bravas potatoes and Manchego pineapple skewers are listed as gluten-free on our menu, along with Loaded Fries, Loaded Rice and Yum Yum Broccoli.
Are there gluten-free options at brunch and happy hour?
Yes. Breakfast empanadas can be made with gluten-free dough, the Cuban Benny is built on Brazilian cheese bread, and gluten-free dough is available during the Loaded Hours from 3 to 6 PM daily.
Are the Latin plates gluten-free?
Yes. All four Loaded Latin plates are gluten-free — Garlic Steak, Shrimp Al Ajillo, Passionfruit Salmon and Cuban Chicken — and both sides they come with, Loaded Rice and Loaded Fries, are gluten-free as well.
Is the sangria gluten-free?
Yes. All house sangrias are made with wine and real fruit, and none contain gluten.
What about dairy, nut and other allergies?
Tell your server. Our menu marks gluten-free and vegetarian items, but every other allergen needs a conversation so the kitchen knows before cooking starts. We will tell you honestly what is in a dish and how it is handled, and we will not guess.
Can you accommodate gluten-free guests at a private event?
Yes. Tell your event coordinator how many guests need gluten-free options and it is built into your group menu ahead of the event.
Are gluten-free desserts available?
The crème brûlée and Romeo & Juliet empanadas can be made with gluten-free dough, and the chocolate mousse and caramel flan are listed as gluten-free on our menu.
